A light fantasy mod for Mount & Blade: Warband

Perisno is a free-to-play mod for the strategy RPG Mount & Blade: Warband. In this fantasy adventure, you will be given the opportunity to explore a new magical continent. Encounter new warriors and factions, trade and fight with new races, and go on new quests to know more about the titular location.

Be a vassal, mercenary, or king

Although the original Warband offers you a certain level of freedom in terms of career choices, Perisno takes it a step further by using the Diplomacy mod. You can play as a vassal who whispers in the ear of a king. Whether you steer your kingdom to peace by negotiation or to bloody war, the game offers you opportunities to actually influence the world around you.

Aside from the added career choices, the mod introduces a lot of new features vastly different from what you can find from the base game. From originally composed soundtracks to new environment types, this makes the experience more engaging as you fight new monsters with all-new weapons and movement animations. To wrap these materials up, the developers also tweaked the in-game graphics to make them more modernized.

Of course, over the course of its development, some beloved features are no longer available. For example, you can no longer build your own forts, although you’re very much free to conquer existing ones or build an army from an abandoned one. Also, the new custom factions could use some rebalancing, as there are obviously stronger and weaker teams instead of a generally fair setup.

An all-new game altogether

It’s almost unfair to call Perisno a mod for Warband since it essentially feels like a game of its own. Although slightly referencing the source material, this add-on has its own world and story for you to explore. This is even complimented by a host of new in-game materials: from factions, units, skills, weapons, mounts, and even new environment designs. Overall, this Warband mod deserves all the praise it gets.
